  • City: Jaipur
  • Climate: Desert

INTERIOR

RECEPTION

The reception has 2 open frameless glass corners forming an inviting open plan space. The Jaali cladding screens provide some shading whilst also creating interesting shapes and light flood into the area. The reception desk and ceiling have been installed with shaped triangle panels to match the external panels and create some consistency from outside to inside.

OFFICES

As the building has been designed around functionality and being an office, the function has been prioritised over form. The offices are clad in curtain walling panels and protected with Jaali to create a user-friendly space that doesn’t overheat.

EXTERIOR

The main and inner shell of the office building is traditional in terms of glazing, steel and concrete construction. This if left unchanged would have more than likely produced another standard office building. However, the understanding of the climate and the use of the building was considered at all stages. This meant the installation of large triangle Jaali cladding panels placed at various angles. The concept of a jaali exterior is to force the air through small openings, cooling air and increasing its force marginally. This element of traditional architecture in Rajasthan has been used to reduce heat gain, increase ventilation and reduce noise from the busy traffic outside. This addition to the project with exposed glazed corners has created a unique building that stands out and is recognisable.
